When is it okay to dress your daughter like a mini version of yourself? Special occasions, trips to the supermarket, Halloween, or never? For every Mini-Me success there are thousands of failures, and sometimes the disasters are the more memorable. Looking back at old photographs always brings back a sense of nostalgia. There are always a few favourites that you can recall from memory, even if you haven't seen them in years. I remember one photo in particular of my Mum, sister and I, all dressed in exactly the same style dress (Mum may of made them). Whenever I see or think of that photo I smile. It's probably the only photo, apart from a few of my sister and I, that I remember Mum and I were dressed alike. Still I remember it fondly.
High end designers have dabbled in the Mini-Me fashion stakes, and I'll be honest I’ve loved a lot of them. My all time favourites would have to be by Dolce & Gabbana. They somehow make dressing like your daughter stylish, and make Mums like myself think “well if they’re doing it I can too!”. But can we? Or are we going to look like disastrous Pinterest posts, which there are many!
If Dolce & Gabbana came knocking at your door and offered you a wardrobe full of Mini-Me clothing would you take it? Or run for the hills?
